With an automation system of hundreds of robots, VinFast (Hai Phong) is considered as the most cutting-edge factory in the region. The robots are programmed to the most advanced technology. Moreover, each stage is technically tested and assessed rigorously, troubleshooting is performed real-time during production. This is also the first automobile factory in Vietnam to own a complete, synchronized and internationally qualified automated manufacturing process.
To operate smoothly and maximize productivity, the automation system needs to be well-designed and well-programmed. Besides, the system also requires the employees and technicians to be certain knowledgeable of the latest technologies. With an expert team in automobile automation and having worked at many projects at VinFast, ATTS Vietnam (Autotech) continues to be proudly selected as a sub-contractor in Aumann’s project at Subframe Shop.
Our team has a comprehensive understanding of VinFast standards and working procedures thanks to the long time working at Body shop, AAPICO shop, and Engine shop. In this project, Autotech the liaison between Aumann and VinFast, taking charge of electrical installation, robotic and PLC commissioning and programming.
Autotech engineers master different fields of automation
From December 2020 to April 2021, a team of 10 ATTS Vietnam engineers worked on Aumann’s Subframe project. They were divided into three groups and in charge of different jobs. The three teams are electrical engineers, robotic engineers and PLC programmers.

The electrical team has installed cable trays, wiring and performed wire arrangement, connecting, measurement, inspection with equipment, etc. After the electrical system is completed, robotics engineers began participating in the operation of commissioning and programming robots, configuring IO hardware, modifying safety zone, optimizing the cycle time and troubleshooting.
PLC programmers have commissioned all 10 PLC S7 1515F 2PN at the factory. Specifically, they performed hardware configuration for Albany door, Safety door, HMI, Light curtain and configuration for Drive IndraWorks; modified Kistler program; repaired faulty equipment; diagnosed hardware errors, modified PLC programs as needed; as well as monitored and supported production for 1 month.
